Comments CommentsDid the $20 last two hour ticket.

I don't know if it's attributable to the new management put in place last month or if it was just an organic evolution, but Whaleback was significantly better tonight than it was when I skied here in January and last February. More snow has been made, lights have been repaired, the T-Bar is running, and the food court is actually open for dinner.

All four of the upper mountain night skiing trails were open with good spring snow conditions. Ambergris, Dorsal, and Spout were groomed, while Upper Face was soft moguls and whales.

Of the lower main mountain night skiing trails, Scrimshaw and Canyon were closed. Lower Spout had racing in progress, but the other side was open (but with some random firm boilerplate). Lower Face wasn't too good, as it had set up with two sets of racing ruts that hadn't been pushed out.

My first time skiing off the T-Bar; slow lift and very short trails. Saw maybe half a dozen people venture over there for a run or two. Blubber was okay, while Lower Ivory Run had a little granular on top of boilerplate.

Trail lighting is better than it has been during the past couple of years, but there are still quite a few dark spots, including the entrance of Upper Face, where you have to point the skis and hope for the best.
