Comments | Great area with an intimidating name. Recent melt had knocked quite a few of their trails out, but there were still some good ones to hit. Unfortunately when we arrived we found that they were setting up the World Cup race course on The Face which was one of the primary runs we had come for. After talking with one of the ski patrollers, we made a few runs elsewhere. When we returned to the summit she caught us to say she had got permission for us to take a run down The Face. We thanked her for her graciousness and took off! Morning saved after all! It was neat to ski down beside the race course and stop to watch some of the telemark skiers go by. We watched a few of the racers from the lift and when we would return to the base area. That's some course, very impressive.
The Gully was definitely skiable but quite a few ice and bare patches visable. Managed to ride a J Bar for the first time, another check off the bucket list. Nice lift systems still in operation here, clearly well maintained. |
