Comments | Kind of nasty weather this morning, but excellent conditions and minimal crowds. I did not encounter a single closed trail or any questionable open trails; generally wall to wall coverage on all trails. Started on North Peak. Upper and Lower Flume were groomed and thus fantastic. The top of Upper Walking Boss was beat up (about half coverage, and some blue ice), but was better the further one descended. Upper Sunset is perhaps 2/3rds covered, but the rest has full coverage. Angel Street was also really nice. Spent the bulk of the morning on South Peak; all trails were open and groomed. A few of the pitches on Boom Run were showing a little wear, but otherwise it was very nice. Upper Twitcher was also a bit scratchy (could be bypassed via Ken's Way), but the lower trails were good. Ripsaw was fantastic; love the steep pitch. The pitch on Cruiser was scratchy, but the rest was good. Great trails on this peak; they ski big and have less trail junctions than the main mountain. Took the last few runs off the Kanc Quad. Upper Northstar was fantastic, as was Rampasture. Upper Runrunner was open (despite being listed as closed) and good, as was Coolidge Street and Lower Rumrunner. Did not ride the gondola (like to keep my skis on), but there were zero lines for the chairlifts. | |
