Ticket Type | M.A.X. Pass
Lift Lines | 3 to 5 minutes

Glades | Some are open, but there's only about 2-3 inches of powder with, at least on the lower half of the mountain, no base.
Moguls | None | |
Terrain Park(s) | Did not notice any features.
Run of the Day | B Slope | |
Food and Beverage | Chicken tenders and fries (no beverage) were about $14.50. Lodge is way too small...even at 11:15 I couldn't find a table and had to settle for a bench by the fireplace.
Comments | Snow report implies that 80% of the mountain is open, but it's quite a stretch. On the upper mountain, there was only one groomed/snowmaking trail (49er). The trail was about 2/3rds wide in terms of base coverage with occasional grass patches. Around 9, conditions were variable with some nice stretches, as well as some golf balls and drifts. From what I heard, the trail was a mob scene later in the morning since there was essentially no other way down. I ventured onto one of the other "open" ungroomed trails and hit rocks immediately under the 2" of powder. Other "open" trails had ice bulges, grass, and rocks. It's nice that they allow folks to ski them if they choose, but to advertise 42 of 57 trails open...hmm. Little Pico initially had sort of two trails open. B Slope was fantastic, but it was quickly closed for racing. Upper Bushwhacker was open, but with some rocks sticking out, and was closed after C Slope. C Slope was also all natural, but decent with only a few grassy areas. Home Run is listed as open, but is actually only open from the race trail to the upper quad. B Slope Cutoff was listed as open, but what I could see from Bushwhacker had rocks sticking out. Exhibition is listed as open (natural snow only), but I don't know how one can get to it when B Slope is closed to the public. A Slope et al were closed. Fools Gold/Gold Rush/Panhandler/Expressway were open and groomed off the Golden Quad. Gold Rush was a bit beaten up and had some dirt/grass sticking through in one part, but the others were in good shape. Lower Pike was variable and crowded, but Swinger was good (albeit crowded). Prospector was natural only, but low enough angle that you could avoid hitting rocks. Outpost had a few trails "open" but the lift was not running (have to hike up a little from Prospector) and nothing was groomed nor had a manmade base. Apart from B Slope, I think Knomes Knoll was the best skiing on the mountain today. Since it was out of the wind, there was untracked powder on the sides of the trails. Triple Slope had a nice base in the middle, with occasional golf balls down low. Ace of Spades was quiet and skied nicely. In terms of lift lines, the triple chairs were generally ski-on all morning. Didn't look like too much of a line for the summit quad (curiously they were scanning tickets there, even though they were already scanning tickets on the lifts required to get there). Golden Express Quad lines were a good 5 or more minutes for much of the morning, though only a couple of minutes via the singles line. Windy on Little Pico and the summit, but otherwise relatively mild temperatures and some nice sunshine. Parking lot was full by 11ish.
