Comments | One of the best kept secrets in New England - Berkshire East on Christmas Eve afternoon. Only a few dozen skiers on the entire mountain! Basically about 7 distinct ways down at the moment, with a few more nearly ready. Conditions were surprisingly good, despite the rain/ice the day before. Upper Mohawk was good. Lower Mohawk has not seen snowmaking yet, but Bolt to Thunder (new run) has and looks to open in a few days. Big Chief was a bit heavy on the lower part. Cloud was scratchy. Upper and lower Comp were wall to wall and excellent. Outback was good, but Roundabout had lots of golf balls. Exhibition is about half width, but good. Sun Dance to Deer Run (to Comp) was good. UMass and War Dance only need a little more base to open. | |
