Comments | Took advantage of the opening weekend deal ($25) for the earliest skiing I've ever had (by 1 day). Zephyr Quad was running, providing a little over 1,000 vertical feet of novice skiing. Other than the first run (10 minute delayed opening because something wasn't ready on the hill), there was no line for the hour I skied. From the top of the chair, one could either ski Range View or the very top of Archie's Alley to Range View. Though some areas would call this 3 trails, Bretton Woods reported 1 trail open. Range View was generally about 50% wide with packed powder and a few short frozen granular/golf ball areas. Roughly every other tower gun was running on the trail. The racing development team was very respectful by sticking to the snow gun side of the trail and not setting a course or using other skiers as their slalom gates. Snowmaking also in progress on Ben, and it looked like they were preparing the Bethlehem Express Quad. Managed to get a little over 5,000 vertical feet in an hour of skiing. Good way to start to get the legs back. | |
