Comments CommentsLast day of the season for Wildcat. Somehow they managed to put things back together for one last day, giving them the most continuous open vertical in New England. $29 tickets.

Basically one upper mountain run expanding into two lower mountain runs. The chokepoints were very rough, however. In fact, the chokepoints were barely skiable at first run and I suspect by this writing, required walking.

Upper Catapult from the top to the old gondola line was basically wall to wall and in good shape. The first chokepoint was where it turned onto the old gondola line. Initially crossing a stream of sorts, there was an obstacle course of rocks and mud, then single file down the straight away, then another rock-mud obstacle course, then dumping onto the bottom of Upper Lynx (okay at that point). The split was at the bottom of Upper Lynx.

Cat Track to Middle Wildcat was still skiing decently. Bobcat was hit or miss though, with three barely skiable chokepoints around before 9 AM, as well as extended stretches of good, open skiing.

Middle Lynx had the chokepoint in the usual place (where it turns adjacent to the old lift line); single file with rocks and mud poking out. Below there, good going all the way to the bottom, with nearly wall to wall coverage. At the very bottom, one could either stay right for the end of Lower Lynx (one or two cat passes wide) or left for Lower Catenary (still in very good shape).

I stuck around for 10K vertical, but didn't want to abuse my skis on the chokepoints. Nice warm temperatures from the get go. Chokepoints were congested, but otherwise the trails were manageable and the lift lines non existent.
