Comments | Drove all the way to Quoggy Jo, only to discover they had closed due to the temperatures. Yet, the larger and more windy Big Rock was open.
The snow report said all trails were open, but Upper Comet, Upper Buds, and Chair Trail were closed. That said, pretty much everything else was open and, even at closing, covered with fresh corduroy. Good coverage and conditions. Very few skiers, perhaps in part due to the negative single digit temperatures (negative 20s with wind).
The open terrain was excellent. Lots of narrow, twisty trails with dips, drops, and some banked curves. Wish I had more time and better weather to really enjoy them. A few legit steep trails as well. Mountain skis bigger than many mid sized areas. Unique (unfortunately obscured today) views of the farm lands and some mountains beyond. |
