Comments | Basically one trail open (not sure how they count 4). Similar to skiing a Nashoba Valley in terms of vertical/run length, so not bad for the first couple hours of skiing this season. $37 ticket. One can load the HSQ with skis on, on snow at the base, then ski to the High Country double. From the top of the double, one can only unload and ski to the left, and then down into the main slope. The main slope (Ruthie's and Scramble) was wall to wall with pretty good coverage. Some pockets of packed powder on the Ruthie's side, otherwise loose granular. Racing brushes were set up on the Scramble side after about an hour, making that tough to meander onto for the few recreational skiers there. A few patches of frozen granular, but otherwise pretty good conditions considering the recent weather. One had to take their skis off to ride the HSQ back down after skiing. I almost didn't get on, as the loading platform underneath was icy and I couldn't lean back to sit down, and couldn't reach back to grab the chair as I was holding my skis. The unloading platform at the bottom was no issue though. Snowmaking in progress on Oblivion, which when ready should allow skiing off the Sunnyside Triple. No visible snowmaking on Valley Run yet. The J-Bar slope snow was getting pushed out this morning. Recent snowmaking on the terrain park slope and race slope as well, but not yet open. | |
