Moguls | What a difference 12 days make. The upper sections of both 10th Division and Smith Walton were all moguls, save for narrow lanes on the right edge of each. Overkill in my view, but others like that stuff. |

Run of the Day | Smith Walton - Salamander Cutoff |

Food and Beverage | The Black Diamond had a $25 all-day 3-courses-with-glass-of-champagne Valentine's special that looked good but would have ended our skiing for the day. My Wachusett Dry Rub Wings were great as always and my wife's $13 vegetarian flatbread was delicious and substantial. Their wine list is unusually extensive for a ski lodge restaurant and reasonably priced, but not for lunch for us. |

Comments | In fact, we had a five-minute lift line wait for our first run, at 10:15, when everyone seemed to have started at once, but within 20 minutes the line was gone and stayed that way. After their big weekend dump, conditions were excellent. The weather was even better - about 30 degrees, little wind and bluebird skies. Very close to perfection, and one of the best ways to be with your Valentine. |
