Moguls | Just a narrower band than usual on left (looking downhill) side of 10th Mtn. Trail. A guy told me they were icy, and they weren't getting much action. |
Terrain Park(s) | It was open but I did't look. |
Run of the Day | 10 Mtn. Trail/Salamander Cutoff. |
Food and Beverage | The Bullock Lodge Cider House, a vintage stone/timber lodge tucked in a grove off the Salamander Cutoff, serves mulled cider and cider donuts and apple turnovers baked in the lodge. It smells and they taste wonderful. With two cranking wood stoves, there is no finer oasis on a cold day.
I love the Wachusett Dry Rub Wings served in the Black Diamond Restaurant. At $12 for 8 wings, they aren't really a bargain, but well worth it. They do throw in a lot of carrot and celery sticks. (They also serve Spicy Maple Wings if you prefer messy to crispy.) Their cocktail/wine list is a bargain. Many elaborate, top-shelf concoctions and the highest price is $7. (I had a Polar Diet Cola.) |
Comments | More machine-groomed than packed powder, but in the morning there were acres of corduroy and no ice. By early afternoon, a few patches on Smith Walton and steeper bits of some other trails were skied off, but conditions overall still very good. |
