Glades GladesPretty much all were open and skiable, though some had certain entrances roped off. Lots of powder stashes even later on and deep coverage especially on the upper mountain. Thinner but fine down low.
Moguls MogulsLots of bumps especially in the afternoon. The usual all-natural suspects (Kitzbuehl, UN, Exhibition, Hotshot, had them as well as Jet and a bunch of blue natural trails down around the Taxi area.

Food and Beverage Food and BeverageSkipped lunch today. Poutine was good yesterday.
Comments CommentsJay was incredible today. Not just incredible for late April standards, but by any skiing standard. It snowed another 6" since close yesterday (I forgot to write a report) and the clouds cleared out today to set up a bluebird powder day.

Started out off the Flyer since that was closed yesterday. JFK was an excellent first run with lots of untracked snow when I first skied it, and some interesting gullies off skiers left near the bottom that I enjoyed. Alligator Alley to Green Mtn Boys to Racer had lots of fresh snow early as well. Everglade (I went in via JFK, not the very top) had especially deep powder, as the wind had blown it off the mountain and in there. Serious contender for run of the day as well. I didn't get a chance to ski Beaver Pond since the flyer closed in the afternoon, but my friends said it was great.

Another highlight was hiking up Northway to the summit and skiing Green Beret/Valhalla. The drop in on Green Beret was still good with minimal ice, and below that was powder. Vermonter was perfect packed powder to get down to it. Northway was also excellent.

I spent a lot of time in the Jet area mainly in the afternoon after the Flyer closed for wind and the Bonnie closed for falling chunks of ice from the tram rope. Timbuktu was great, though thin at the bottom. I hugged the boundary most of the way and had a great time. Hotshot Derick had fresh snow, mostly wind blown I think, at 3:30pm. Bailed out to Mont L'entrepide as Willard was melting out quick. UN was really good midday, and the glades between UN and Jet had a ton of powder late in the afternoon somehow. Jet itself was bumping up very nicely with a bit of ice, Kitzbuehl was a bit icier but had powder stashes as well.

The lower mountain turned to corn snow in the afternoon as the sun beamed down and temperatures rose above freezing. Get it while you still can down there, because while the top has plenty of time, the bottom is going quick. I'd expect the glades will be in play for a few more weeks, and the natural trails off Jet all were deep as well. So glad I made the trip up for yesterday and today, such a great way to (likely) end the season.
