Comments CommentsQuality over quantity was the name of the game at Jay yesterday. I only got 11 runs in, but they were all great. 3-6" of snow overnight (felt like the higher end of that range) and 1-2 during the day kept conditions great, especially for the end of March. It's snowed almost 3 feet there this week and everything is in great shape after it was looking grim just a couple weeks ago.

Crowds were rough. I got there around 9:30 after waiting for the snow to taper off on the highways, and parking was already full. Parked in some condos and walked up to Stateside around 10, and by 10:30 they were completely out of places to put cars. Jet and Bonnie lines were huge, I waited over 15 minutes in the singles line for Bonnie. Didn't even try Jet after seeing how huge the line was, so note that this report does not include that part of the mountain.

The Flyer, and the terrain off it, was the place to be. The singles line for the flyer moved fairly fast, and I don't think I waited more than 10 minutes on it all day. Beaver Pond and Andres Paradise were both fun, I actually thought Andres was the better of the two yesterday as Beaver Pond was pretty tracked out. JFK had really good snow and minimal ice. Them making snow on it this year was a great idea, it skis like a totally different trail. The blues up top werent scraped off (except for Goat Run, but even that wasn't too bad) and Wedelmaster and Alligator Alley were actually enjoyable.

Northway had amazing packed powder well into the afternoon, probably the best I've ever seen it. Can Am earned run of the day - I got it for my first run when it still had loads of powder, and again was the best conditions I've had on that run. The trails down the face near Tramside all had good snow and soft bumps, and North Glade had excellent snow and felt very wide open. Milk Run was a nice leg burner to close out the day.

Probably gonna be a mess after todays ice and rain, but yesterday was a great powder day and I'm glad I got to sneak one more in. I expect it to be my last barring an April miracle.
