Comments CommentsThough it was mixed precip only a few miles south of here, the storm was initially snow-only for Loon, resulting in 4-6" of powder this morning. Roads were pretty bad (hence not driving further).

Pretty much everything open except for Triple Trouble, Undercut, and glades.

South Peak trails skied well first thing this morning, as the spring snow had been groomed out before the snow, providing a steady base underneath. Some ice to deal with on the steeps of Ripsaw and Upper Twitcher, but otherwise decent. Timbertown had probably nicest conditions of all, as the snow packed into a fairly even packed powder, and there were still many lines of unpacked powder to hit as well (even if low angle).

Ventured over to the main mountain briefly around 9:30 and was reminded of why I avoid Loon on weekends. Constantly almost rubbing elbows with folks on Sunset and Lower Walking Boss. A couple minute way for North Peak Express. Unfortunately East Basin wasn't running, so we just did two laps and then headed back to South Peak.

South Peak line built out later in the morning, as folks were parking at Timbertown at this point and working their way over to the main mountain (probably for 80s day festivities). Despite the lift line, the trails were not nearly as busy as the main mountain.
