Comments | Ragged survived the thaw and frankly looked better this morning than it did Thursday morning, thanks to snowcat operators covering up the bare spots. Only two trails were lost - Sunnyside (not surprising, since it was adventure skiing) and Birches (not sure what's up with that - listed as open/groomed on the snow report, and still looked fully covered at the top and bottom, but it was closed/ungroomed). Conditions were variable with the flash freeze overnight. Early groomed trails were boilerplate, such as the Crewcuts and Flying Yankee. They regroomed again early this morning, leaving loose granular on the late groomed and regroomed stretches. Some rocks to watch out for on the flats on Blueberry Patch. Best snow on Speare was Showboat. On the main mountain, maybe Newfound Ridge into Main Street. Barnyard was fine. Lifts were mostly ski-on this morning. Absent a major change in forecast, next weekend is easily within reach, as none of the open trails showed any chokepoints today. |
