Comments CommentsStarted at Sun Bowl - getting fried pretty quickly. Lower Kidderbrook, Lower Middlebrook, Lower Downeaster, and Big Ben remain. Big Ben was limited to a single cat track due to racing. Sunriser Supertrail was listed as open yesterday, but was closed today. Looked like a chokepoint about halfway up, and that they had done a bunch of cat work up top. Random rocks on Shortcut Big Ben and random crevasses on Lower Kidderbrook. Otherwise, generally nice spring snow conditions on what was open.

Main upper mountain was limited. Black Bear had an umarked rock garden near where it's under the lift. Polar Bear had a few random rocks. Grizzly Bear was closed (looked like it had coverage, but not groomed) and Bear Bottom was closed for racing. Tamarack was so so. Frank's Fall Line was also closed for racing (lots of closed terrain today!). Generally loose granular with some spring snow and some boilerplate. Trace to half an inch of powder up high from yesterday.

Top of Snow Bowl was a clusterbleep. Initially a single cat track down from the lift to Janeway - that's it! Mike's was closed, so most traffic was funneling through that chokepoint before dispersing to the trails open thereafter. Lower Slalom Glade was open (can't remember a time that it's been open to the public when I've been here), so that was a treat. Spruce was so so. Only took a few runs here due to the mess up top.

Did not venture down to the lower main mountain.

Nice spring weather with blue skies and temperatures warming into the 50s this morning and not too much wind.
