Comments | Had a great afternoon at Mohawk on Sunday. Arrived around 11:30 and the parking lot was the busiest I've ever seen it, I was in the second overflow lot. Indy Pass redemption was super easy. Lift lines weren't bad as a single rider, since I'd just sneak in with a group of two. However, Mohawk did absolutely nothing to load the chairs and there was no official singles line. Tons of chairs (all triples) went up with only one or two people on them, contributing to the liftlines.
The weather was beautiful. Temps were in the upper thirties with the sun shining. The wind picked up a little later on, but it still wasn't too cold. Trails were all packed powder with some loose snow on top, skied off in spots but nothing really icy. I brought my race skis, which were great to carve on all afternoon.
Skied everything open. The normally icy/narrow trails on skiers left of the summit were pretty good. The other summit trails were all packed powder with a lot of little cutovers through trees and side hits that were all skiable. Route 100, Chute, and Upper Mohawk were a little scraped off but manageable. Timber (closed until 2ish for racing), Wildwood, and Arrowhead/Exhibition were all great. Skier density was pretty high on Pine, with how busy the place was you definitely had to be careful. Nothing super noteworthy otherwise, just a nice (free) afternoon of skiing at a local hill.
