Comments | Rough night to go skiing due to the weather (rain followed by a warm up followed by temps dropping back to the lower 30s).
Crotched sent out an e-mail earlier today saying they were 100% open, but that was not the case. NCC 1701 was closed (though we ended up on it accidentally because it was not roped on the Jupiter side), as was Magnitude (though they dropped the rope on the upper part just prior to closing), CM Park, Upper Shooting Star, and Comet Drop. Closed trails were groomed out at some point though. There were some bare spots mixed in on open trails.
The very bottom of the mountain had more of a spring snow type of granular. However, the majority of the mountain had set up as boilerplate. Carriage guns are still out on the mountain, suggesting snowmaking will resume when temperatures drop in a few days. |
