Comments Comments1-2" of natural fell last night, making for some pretty nice conditions at Berkshire East today on what would've otherwise been mostly packed granular and ice. The new snow bonded to the surface pretty well on most trails, and the conditions stayed fairly creamy throughout the day especially on the sides of trails. Was nice to look at as well in an otherwise low-snow (but cold!) year in southern New England.

The T-Bar Express, Summit Quad, Top Notch Double, and Exhibition Quad were all running today. The express had a line that averaged probably about 5 minutes, while the other two main quads were ski on or a few chair wait for most of the day. The summit quad and express were both running what felt like faster than normal today.

Nearly all the snowmaking terrain was open, with the exception of Hemlock, Thunder/Bolt, and Chute. Run of the day was UMass, which kept its soft snow all day, bumped up a little bit, and didn't have any ice beneath the fresh snow. Flying Cloud was similar but got icy late, and Big Chief skiers right was also excellent with some bumps. There were races on Competition for much of the day, but once they were done that trail was a treat when it first opened.

Exhibition had some rough ice beneath the new snow - definitely had to watch out. Grizzly, as usual, was a sheet of ice. No clue why Grizzly always sucks while UMass is one of the best trails on the hill, and they're right next to each other. Ralickis Run/Upper Minnie Dole was sketchy as always. Mohawk and Roundabout were nice relaxing cruises, especially with the falling snow adding to the scenery. Further down, War Dance was ok, Lower Minnie Dole icy, and lower comp was pretty good.
