Comments CommentsIt was great to be able to ski today for the first time in weeks without bone chilling temperatures and wind! There was no wind at all, and temperatures were in the twenties and upper teens, perfect for an evening of skiing! As usual, Lost Valley's mountain ops knocked it out of the park with snowmaking and grooming; every trail off Lifts 1 & 2 were open with excellent loose granular conditions, except for Otter Slide & the lower part of Rabbit Run, which should both be open soon. Lift 3 appears to be pretty much done, and they have started making snow on that side of the mountain for the first time in over 25 years.

The mountain was busy with lessons, race training, and after school programs, but the crowds were spread out well, and lift lines were rarely more than a minute or two long. As it got closer to closing, many people stopped skiing and the lifts were generally ski-on. It was an excellent evening of skiing, and it's great to see them making the most of this low snow year.
