Comments | Not sure if anyone will actually see this, but I did hit the Superstar Glacier for the very last ski day in New England. I can now die happy knowing I've skied in the month of June! I got in line about 8:45 and it was already wrapped around the front of the K-1 lodge. It moved pretty quick. My second run I only had to wait about 10 minutes. Some kids behind me said the first people got there at 4:30 am! Trail had a descent width for most of the run, only one really narrow section down to the final 1/3rd of the trail. That started to get skieed off at my second run. Yes, I only did 2 runs. I did it on my old straight K2's which made it a bit more difficult. Walking down the headwall in ski boots was interesting to say the least. Second run I opted for the Nivis Walk around. If it wasn't for the walk, I may have gone up again. Lot's of people seemed to go one run and done. Rocks were already starting to show on the narrow parts and the moguls on the wide sections got pretty deep fast. I bet there was still 3'deep snow pack in some sections. I got my $25 worth! So, that's it kids, the season is over! See you all next year! |
