Glades | I didn't really go into any but that didn't stop others. The heavy dense snow pack looked like it made them very skiable. |
Moguls | No mogul fields but plenty of soft piles all around. Vermont 200, Hardluck, Tattletale and others were fun. |
Terrain Park(s) | Both parks open with smaller features. |

Run of the Day | Spillway |
Food and Beverage | Brown bagged it. |

Comments | 64 of 71 trails, 6 of 6 lifts, 30-45F, 1" last 24 hours, 27" last 7 days, light to no wind, mostly cloudy until the afternoon the sun broke through in spots with fine views of Champlain. Report was packed powder on machine groomed. The 27" of snow wasn't in much evidence on trees, buildings, footings or lifts but was settled very well onto the trails into a dense snowpack. Almost all the blues & greens had excellant coverage as well as many of the blacks. Some, mostly black trails had bare areas but were still open. I did not see any double blacks open.
The day started out a little firm and going into the virgin snow was pretty tough. It was also foggy, especially up high. It soon warmed enough to clear the fog, soften the snow and make the carving fun all over. We started on Vista, then Wilderness and headed over to Timberline at noon time. Everything over there was a lot of fun. It never got mushy or sloppy and was great spring ski day. |
