Comments | I have to say, this was a trip down memory lane! I got my first season pass here in the '90-91 season right after college and still remember riding the double (Mid-mountain lift - when it *seemed* to have a midway station but after further research it really didn't????) at night with my boyfriend as the snow was blasting down on us!!!! Today was pretty cold and I was being pretty conservative - the black diamonds were open but I never saw anyone on them so I was afraid they must have been all ice. I never avoid them but it was 10 degrees and I could just picture shattering my femur. WELL most everyone was on the green circles anyway. Groomers were wicked fun but a few of the crossovers were kinda glare ice - I just picked and edge of the snowboard and committed to it. A local pointed me to the lookout tower just a short hike above Vista Peak. Had amazing views but a bit sketchy with big distances between the rungs. I was kind of hoping to get to Wilderness Peak but it was closed when I checked it out (though it was running). I was also hoping to get to Timberline but the crossover had a big sign saying it wasn't open (traffic was only to get to parking) but when I drove past the actual Timberline Lift, late morning, it was apparently open. Oh well - when I left, late morning, I was pretty much frozen solid through. | |
