Comments | Got in a dozen runs at Jay Peak yesterday morning to finish up my weekend there. Stuck to the Bonaventure and Jet lifts as I suspected the Flyer side would be windy and likely skied-off. A little bit more snow had fallen overnight and the snow continued until mid-morning, giving way to partly cloudy skies. The wind was stronger than Saturday which made it feel colder even though in reality it was a bit warmer. However, all lifts ran as scheduled and lift lines were shorter than Saturday – I don’t think I ever had to wait more than 5 minutes.
Like on Saturday, Lower Milk Run skied well although there were a few very small thin spots resulting from its groom. The other groomers like Northway, Hell’s Crossing, Angel’s Wiggle, Montrealer, Sweetheart, Jet and Angel’s Wiggle were all decent too. I also ventured down Upper Can Am and was luckily able to avoid most of the rocks and ice on the very windswept headwall by sticking to skier’s right. It was tricky skiing but I'm always up for a challenge! The lower-angle glades were still in good shape but the steeper ones had more thin/icy/scraped-out spots.
It was a great ski weekend and I always leave Jay wishing I could spend more time there! |
