Comments | Yesterday's warm weather gave way to everything setting up today. Unless it was groomed, it was bulletproof. It was groomed, it wasn't much better. Lowest portions of the mountain were spring snow though. Everything was technically open (Bretton's Wood opened at the end of the day once racing completed), but there are a lot of thin spots on the non-snowmaking trails. Headwalls on McIntyre's and Bode's have lot of bare ground. Of the groomed trails, West Mountain was the worst skiing with lots of boilerplate and occasional rocks (Little Tuckerman). Telegraph T-Bar was running, but only Stickney Escape was worth skiing (groomed). Two Miles Home had some thin spots and ice. Sly Fox was bumps with some thin spots. Deception Bowl was decent, but Darby's Drop was pretty much fully boilerplate. Crowds diminished as the afternoon progressed (Super Bowl). Apart from the gondola (never rode it; corral was usually at least partially filled), there were no lift lines anywhere. Everything except for the upper mountain triple operating. Cloudy afternoon with temperatures sitting in the 30s. | |
