Reservations for tables are required and they are pushed out to March now. Pricey but the atmosphere is so fun and the food is so tasty Ox Tail toast was so yummy. |

Comments | My husband's nephew and I took a trip to Sunday River. Arrived at Barker Lodge by 9 and found one of the last parking places, lots of parking places up close if you have the jingle but no idea how one buys a reserved parking place, ha ha. We were stuck most of the morning at Locke Mountain riding the old triple because the new bubble six pack we were told had icing issues and didn't start loading passengers until sometime after 10:30 am. We skied a couple runs on Tempest and everything that was open from the top of Locke. Lift lines were okay, maybe five minutes until around 11 when they increased a few minutes. Line at the new Barker heated seat six pack bubble were all day at least 5 to 10 minutes. We skied a few runs at Spruce Peak before going over to the Jordon 8 lift. Yah the lift line managers did a bang up job trying to load full chairs. We heard from so many that the day before was something else new snow and then rain that people were skiing everywhere but today ropes up everywhere and crust and firm snow if you got off the groomers. We had a good time skiing conditions really held up nicely until they got pretty firm/icy skied off by 1pm but still could find big piles of loose granular to make a turn. So many people on choke points on their butts, especially Tourist Trap between Spruce lift and Barker lift, wow is all I can say is Oh the carnage! We had a good time and can't wait for more snow to arrive. What was scary was the drive home between Gorham to Franconia Notch the snow squall was heavy and often blinding, 20 mph sometimes felt too fast. It's called winter. |
