Comments | Indy pass - process worked well - ordered my RFID card online ($5) and quickly picked up at window. I wasn't sure what to expect with all the rain and warm-ups. Well, the usual ice/very good conditions, depending on where you went. Started doing most of the open runs off Cannonball Quad - I guess I missed Upper Ravine. Upper Cannon was great to start - had it all to myself. Good edging. Vistaway was really nice but I get sketched out with people flying past me at a hundred miles an hour. I cleared out of the top when the line started backing up. Getting on Cannonball Quad was hard on a snowboard with big ice bulges throwing you off to the side - almost had to stop lift for me - d'oh!!!!
After the upper section, I headed to base and made the terrible mistake of taking Lower Ravine/Chute which was literally an ice chute. Fine if you're on skis but not super fun on a board - I did constant speed checks and there was no way to stop if I picked up any speed - super stressful. From there I just lapped Middle Cannon/Rock Garden/Lower Cannon because, although there were a lot of golf-ball chunks, the sun had softened up the ice just a tad.
Fun morning but hiking up Cannon in the afternoon was actually more fun. |
