Glades GladesNo glades on the map are open so far, but ask around and you can find some woods to duck into somewhere. Skiers right on lower Northern Lights was pretty interesting!
Moguls MogulsLots on hight traffic areas, especially at intersections.
Terrain Park Terrain Park(s)Lower Excalibre still has a mini park, although this will change eventually. Mountain ops were moving rails/elements over towards Who-Ville to get the ball rolling on that park, which will open soon.
Run of the Day Run of the DayRight Stuff
Food and Beverage Food and BeverageTurkey BLT from Barker, and checked out the Igloo Bar over at Jordan Basin. That Igloo is very detailed inside!
Comments CommentsAfter 15 years of chatter, the rebuilt Barker lift is finally open to ride, and what a machine it is. 4.4 minutes to the top, heated seats, bubbles, the whole thing - and not to mention the 4 trails off the top that were in fantasitc shape as well. What a way to start off the season!

Snow wise, there were more or less the same trails from last week. Most of the mountain is unchanged from the storm on Sunday/Monday last week, and most of the powder seemed to hold through very well. A couple natural trails opened throughout the day, which included Locke Line, Downdraft, and Upper American Express. Groomed trails had bits of ice patches, but in general rode nicely for most of the time. Right Stuff, Sunday Punch, Lazy River, Ecstacy + Jungle Road were in great shape for Barker's opening day. Spruce also had a delayed opening at around 9:30, and both American Express and Risky were all whalebacks. Sundance was also open and groomed for the first time this season as well.

Lines for Barker, Jordan and the Gondi were pretty much all day, but mostly kept moving. The Jordan 8 probably had the longest wait of the day, but the lifty (shoutout to Lizzy!) kept her cool and got everyone sorted out for the ride. The corrale for Barker is also a bit confusing when you get there, but actually makes sense after awhile. Two seperate RFID gates get people to scan their ticket prior to getting sorted into groups, and when you're paired with a group, you can easily hop onto the lift afterwards. I think the goal of that system is to have all ticket issues sorted out before you enter the loading area, which makes a whole lotta sense. Compared to what I've seen so far, I'd like to think it was a success for the first day, but it's hard to tell if this is a good idea down the road. Just happy there's no more counting to 8 to make a full chair, LOL!
