Comments CommentsMid-winter conditions with a decent amount of terrain open, including natural and manmade steeps.

Superstar complex had Superstar and Skyelark with decent loose granular conditions. Old Superstar and lower Skyehawk had decent coverage with nice natural bumps. I think they were making snow on Bittersweet/High Road/Low Road.

Snowshed was so so (since the manmade hadn't fully cured) and the connecting Learn to Ski trail was definitely pushed out wet (looks like it needs some more snowmaking).

Raw's Head only had Caper/Great Northern, which was okay.

Snowdon was mostly open, but the naturals were thin in places (particularly the bottom of Great Bear). Frolic was groomed, but thin. Natural Full House/Royal Flush were good (lower Royal Flush was also nice though with some thin spots). Highline was firm, but decent. Conclusion was surprisingly good, though one had to watch out for rocks and the bottom water bar.

North Ridge was busy with Upper East Fall closed for race training. Upper Ridge Run was very thin with stuff lurking underneath.

From the summit, the top of Cascade was bad (mine field of rocks). Snowmaking in progress on upper Great Northern and Blue Heaven (closed). Launch Pad was fine.

In the Canyon, Escapade, Cascade, and Downdraft were all open on natural. A few rocks to watch out for on the steeps, but otherwise generally good natural coverage with soft bumps (not too big). Lower East Fall was firm but edgeable. Canyon chair was being prepped in the afternoon.

Decent sized crowd, but never more than a few chair/gondola wait. Too bad the warm, wet weather is moving in, but welcome to December in New England.
