Comments | Went up to Wachusett to do some night laps, try out some new equipment, and start off the 23-24 season. Nothing like the craziness up in Vermont this week, but I had the itch and needed to get out there and ski. Open trails were Conifer Connection off the summit, Ralph's Run off Minuteman, and Indian Summer and Sundowner off Monadnock. Was hoping they'd get 10th Mtn open, but it had absolutely massive whales that still needed to be pushed out and groomed. Conifer was good for the most part, but the steep stretch where it crosses the road became an ice skating rink. Ralph's isn't a particularly exciting run, but the conditions were good and consistent. Indian Summer was fine, but Sundowner opened today and was grippy, rut-filled, and icy. Needs another groom or two. |
