Comments | 2.5 lower mountain runs and 2 upper mountain run open. From the SuperQuad, Hayburner, Kings Landing (both emptying onto Candyside) and Tote Road were open. The pitch for each of them was scratchy. Tote Road had the most boilerplate and a few thin spots, whereas Hayburner and Kings Landing had a lot of loose granular. Generally wall to wall coverage. From the Timberline Quad, it was Tote Road Extension (generally wall to wall) or Timberline (about half width). Timberline had some scratchy areas midway, but was nice below the chair. Looks like they had an emergency shutdown of the snowmaking system this morning, as noted by large amounts of water running into the base area and crews hustling to blow out a line. Seems like they may have enough to cover Boardwalk and Peavy X-Cut, but not enough to open the Competition Hill. Also noted whales on Narrow Gauge Extension, and the off ramp of Skyline is groomed out. Beautiful blue skies with temperatures in the 20s to 30s and very little wind. Trails were very crowded at times due to reckless skiers. One more trail off each lift would help to distribute folks. SuperQuad had 5 minute lines in the morning before thinning out by lunch. Timberline was maybe a minute or so. | |
