Comments | 2.5 ways down open today: Lollapalooza top to bottom, Lollapalooza to Grand Avenue to Boots Off to Boots On, and Rogue Angel top to bottom. Nice opening week offering. Lollapalooza was generally about half width, with some areas closer to wall to wall. A few small areas of hard pack up high, scratchy in the short shaded spot after the turn, then spring snow in the sun. Generally decent base depths. Boots Off and Boots On are a little thin in places. Rogue Angel was ungroomed. Upper half was large whales with edgeable manmade snow. Some ice approaching the bottom, then some thin spots thereafter (will probably take some more snowmaking to have enough to push out this part). Excalibur had some whales, but was not open (and needs some more snowmaking). Did not see any snow on Cyclone, State Fair, or Firestar, so it may be awhile before there is connected skiing beyond this peak. Nice bluebird morning with temperatures in the 40s. Lollapalooza was busy at times, but not like bumper cars. 8 pack chairs were generally loading 4 at a time, but more folks were still arriving later in the morning. | |
