Comments Comments I arrived just before 11 am and the sun was out and it was just in the mid 30's in the parking lot. I was able to park very close to the Snowdon bubble chair and only had to take about 4 car lengths walk to get on snow---Yeah princess parking. I did a couple laps on Snowdon lift and some thin spots under the lift. Then I did a run on the gondola and ended up going down East Fall since all the trails under the gondola are closed, I guess the run out must be bare--looked like they could have pushed snow around but maybe saving for the weekend? North Peak chair closed so I had to skate up the hill to escape the area and I then went down Highline--bumps fun but slop felt narrow since only the area where the mogul field is has snow left on the slope. I then decided I better check out Snowshed and I did a few runs over there, lots of snow left in the terrain park. Just after where Swirl and Easy Street meet there were unmarked deep melted out holes and some sad person skied into one by mistake, they were ok, but had a difficult time climbing out. Yikes. The gondola trails were a disappointment since they felt more like cross country skiing and nothing going straight down the mountain, Bear Trax was groomed and was long and slow but at least dumped me out on Ovation. Skylark was nice and lower Bittersweet along with Superstar. I am glad I went today snow softened up nicely, not crowded. I am also glad I used my rock skis, not too many rocks but enough and plenty of dirt. Riding the gondola required walking across a big mudpit before reached the concrete lift line area. By mid afternoon the view really cleared up and I could see all the way to the Whites. Really nice day. After this weekend just the Superstar lift will be running.
