Comments | After a day of awful conditions on Saturday... Sunday was a pleasant surprise with an inch or 2 of fresh snow which got wind loaded in some spots. Started at open in the Gondi and got first tracks down Cascade which was very nice and powdery! After that I stuck to glades and bumps around Skye Peak which were all enjoyable first thing. Winds were pretty strong but no lifts went on hold although it was a bit sketchy around the trail crossing on Superstar where the lift swung a bunch. Great Eastern is a very fun trail to fly down and I skied it a few times to give my legs a rest. Snowdon cruisers were fun and the bubble was nice to have with flurries and the cold wind. Superstar had the guns absolutely pounding all day and there is an incredible amount of snow on that trail which should last until June this year. Ended the day lapping K1 and I also skied Catwalk from the true summit a few times which is very fun! Overall a great day and although some trails got all the snow wind blown off of them at the end of the day and it was all hard icy base, some woods trails got the snow blown into them and big moguls held the snow well. |
