Comments | Berkshire East was skiing beautifully today. They got 4" yesterday, and from what I heard pounded snowmaking all day. Got another coating during the day today as some heavier snow showers came in after lunch. Trails were mostly packed powder, with some loose softer snow leftover from yesterday. No real ice to speak of, but there was some hardpack in places that required good edges. They didn't groom out all the whales, but on some trails (UMass in particular) the whales made it even more fun to ski. UMass, especially in the morning, was ROTD. Great snow with soft moguls. Upper Minnie Dole got skied off fast because Riva Ridge was closed for racing.
The Summit Quad closed for a little while around 10:30 after it started making noises lifts shouldn't make. Triple line was pretty long for a bit but thankfully the quad opened up after about 20 minutes. Minimal lines after that, maybe a couple minutes and only a few chair wait on the singles line. This might be the last time I visit before the new HSQ goes in - that'll totally change the way that place skis. Not too much to report today, but all in all conditions were great and it was a nice day out there. |
