Comments CommentsNoticed that mid-week day tickets at Burke are only $45 online. Add that to the Indy Allied partnership, and that ticket only comes out to only $25. Good deal.

Started over at Sherburne and made my way over to Mid-Burke, and took three laps there before it closed for the first of 2 times during the day. All trails off the summit are in good shape, and were pretty consistent all day. Carriage Road, Upper Dipper, Willougnby and Fox's Folly were all nice and evenly groomed, with the occasional granular spot here and there. Carriage Road was really fun to rip on, and that to me was my best run of the day.

The T-Bar was running in place of Mid-Burke on & off throughout the day, so you could still go 3/4ths of the way up the mountain when Mid-Burke was closed. You could get to Willougnby and Mcharg's Cutoff, but the lift kept stopping and it honestly wasn't worth it most of the time. You were better off just waiting for Mid-Burke to re-open (which did later on). Upper Warren's Way was closed for most of the day too.

Lower Burke had some fun stuff and the Sherburne area rode decently during the afternoon. There was a bit of a crowd for a normal weekday, as some schools had some sort of "outdoor activity" day at Burke. There were lots of kids with almost no adult in sight on most of the lower trails. Never a line at any of the lifts though. The terrain park on Dashney Mile was nice to hit at least. After Mid-Burke reopened, I skied East Bowl, Fox's Folly and then later The Shoot. Fox's Folly goes right underneath the old (and partially removed) Willoughby quad that last ran in 2015. It's a relatively short run, but the ominous abandoned lift gives it a very eerie and lonely feel when your skiing under it. It's certainly a unique aspect of the mountain I got to experience for the first time. I can only wonder why it was left to rot.

All in all, time well spent at Burke today. Get to cross another area off the bucket list. Hopefully if I get another chance this year, I will come back. Temps started out at 34 degrees w/clouds and got up to 42. All lifts were walk-on for most of the day.
