Comments | One of the best days of the season at Killington today. Bluebird skies, no wind, and temps in the mid 30s made for an absolutely beautiful ski day all things considered. Similar to yesterday, things opened up fast and firm, softening as the day went on. The only real ice I found was on Double Dipper, although Superstar had a few sneaky slick spots. The groomers slowly loosened up and turned into soft granular. There was even corn snow on low-elevation and south facing trails - it felt like I was skiing in April when I went down Skyeburst/Grizzly/Dreammaker! Run of the day was, without a doubt, Highline. I was one of the first people on it when they dropped the ropes post-racing, and it skied absolutely beautiful. Went back there three more times, every run as good as the last with soft moguls beginning to form later on. All the Snowdon trails were skiing well, with massive moguls on Great Bear. Snowmaking was ongoing on upper Superstar, Cascade, and Downdraft. Racked up over 30k of vertical drop today. Best of the season, and a great day in general. Hopefully they make it through the warm weather alright. | |
