Comments | Used my Steel pass today. Good Monday - Thursday days for $229. They sold out within hours last May, but I was lucky enough to get one. Wasn't able to get a Wachusett Steel or Bronze pass last season because they sold out quickly. They limited the quantity of season passes so that they could sell more four hour session tickets, and make more money. Almost all the trails were open, except for Roper's Road and the upper section of Balance Rock. Wachusett made a lot of snow when they had the opportunity. The easier trails from the Minuteman lift were all well groomed. The trails from the Polar Express were mostly good too. 10'th Mountain was very firm, but had softer snow on the skiers right side. Oxbow Chute was icy, it was a one and done deal for today. Salamander cutoff was firm but not icy like Oxbow Chute. Conifer Connection and Smith Walton had sugary groomed snow. They were the best options on the Polar Express side. Weather was pleasantly seasonable today. The sky cleared and the sun was out after lunch. It was a bit busy for the first hour or so after opening. But then there was virtually no lift line for the rest of the day. I left as the inrush of school busses started to arrive after 2:30. All in all a very nice day of skiing. | |
