Session | Full Day | |
Ticket Type | Indy Pass | |
Lift Lines | 1 to 2 minutes
Trail Conditions | 35% open; Packed Powder, Variable Conditions
Glades | A few of them, most notably Vista Glade, were open but with thin coverage. Had to be very careful - moguls and the occasional rock.
Moguls | On the steeper natural snow trails. Low tide in between the moguls.
Terrain Park(s) | Small park on Hideaway, with a jump and a few rails and boxes.
Run of the Day | Coyote/Fanny Hill
Food and Beverage | Had a good pork rice ball thing from the Miso stand. Indoors food service was a disorganized mess, but the cookies were good.
Comments | What better way to break in a brand new pair of skis than with a day I should've used rock skis for? Good snow conditions at Bolton, but it was REALLY low tide. Had to be super careful off piste. Schuss in particular was almost unskiable. Vista Glade was super fun, and a candidate for run of the day, but I had to be careful for rocks. Preacher was apparently open, but you had to duck ropes and dodge whales on Cobrass to get there, so I never made it over. All the wilderness peak trails were in great condition, powder/packed powder. Nothing super crazy, but enjoyable runs. I wish the lift was open, but if the goal was to protect snowpack, it worked beautifully. Cobrass was snowmaking throughout the day. Spillway had massive whales, no active snowmaking, they even groomed out the top of it, but it inexplicably wasn't open. Was completely skiable. Snowmaking was also going off the Snowflake lift and down at Timberline, both will probably open soon. Lines weren't bad. Longest I waited was 3-4 minutes at around 1. Wasn't more than a few chair wait for a lot of the day.
