Comments | Got there shortly after 8 am, we stopped in Gorham at the BBQ place and got yummy breakfast sandwiches, will go there again! We got into the 3rd lot and on the lift by 8:35! Annual free skiing last day of the season, thank you Sunday River, Ungroomed trails were too firm and the groomed trails were nice loose granular. Sun came out and things warmed up nicely by 10:30. We skied everything. by Noon snow was melting out fast at the top of the lift, only lift, Baker Mt. Express quad. They set up a trash can on the rocky spot and did some shoveling! We hiked up to the top of Locke to enjoy the view to the Whites and more...well worth the effort and fun skiing Upper Sunday Punch-they must have known we'd do it since it was groomed. Lift lines was mostly ski right on and then got to be about a minute. Everyone having a good time! We decided that ropes were just a suggestion. T-bar line was great, maybe my favorite today. Also couldn't pass up going down SouthPaw and we enjoyed the cheers and jeers of the folks above on the lift as we walked down to Sunday Punch. Several lift rides later a fellow did the same but he pulled off a "Candide"(https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FMqADdsVmwQ) and skied back to Sunday Punch's snow, wow! Great day, so glad I went today. Lift attendants were rocking the music top and bottom and maybe we did some dancing. |
