Comments | Last day of the season at Loon. The snow set up overnight and conditions were firm. Trails that had been groomed late were the best to start out on. It stayed cold all day, and the snow never softened up that much. Spent the day with a friend, he likes to ski the bumps on the Flume trail. Flume wasn't that great today except for the couple inches of powder at the top. Lower Flume was ungroomed and firm, not much fun. We spent almost all our time at North Peak, most of it on Walking Boss. It started out great top to bottom, but the very top section got skied off by late morning. The rest of the trail stayed good all day though. Sunset also had some new powder on the skiers left side, covering up the bare spots. We had the mountain mostly to ourselves, very few folks were there.
rocket21 did a nice write up, so no need for me to duplicate it.
Weather was kind of cold for the last day. Snow never softened up on North Peak. On and off snow flurries and squalls all day. |
