Comments | I skied what was likely my last day of the season at Sunday River today. They still had quite a bit open across White Cap, Barker, and Spruce. It was a strange weather day, alternating between sun and intense snow squalls. It was warm enough so that most areas softened up nicely, but nothing got too slushy or messy. While some trails, such as Tempest and Bim's Whim, had very thin cover with some walking (or grass skiing) required in areas, there were still a lot of trails with impressive wall-to-wall coverage. Although it will be closing after tomorrow, White Heat likely had the most snow on it with 4-8 feet or so of depth in most places. It wasn't very busy and there were no lines all day. Next weekend will be their last of the season with operations condensed to just Barker. It was a great day to close out the season for me! |
