Comments CommentsMid-April powder day at Jay. Bare ground and ran downtown, but snow starting right around the entrance elevation. New snow ranged from a dusting to an inch down low to half a foot or so on the upper western terrain and it kept snowing throughout the day.

Jet complex probably had the worst conditions, as Haynes and Jet were groomed out wet and had lots of divots and random death cookies under the new powder. Powder tended to be wetter/stickier here too. Very bottom of Willard is bare (signs recommending crossing over prior). Hot Shot Derick and Kitzbuehel were bumped.

Off the Bonaventure, Northway was holding on fine, and other side trails (Upper Milk Run, Purgatory, Hell's Crossing) were okay with perhaps a few thin spots hidden underneath. Did not attempt 601, Upper Can Am, or Upper River Quai because it looked like there was nothing under the few inches of powder.

A lot of the lower mountain terrain on Tramside was toast. Hard to get through the exit of lower Ullr's Dream without hitting rocks, as there was no base on Harmony Lane. I think Interstate was the way down off the Metro. The stuff above there/below Goat had a lot of carnage showing underneath, but was open. Flash was quite good in the trees.

Poma Line was bumpy but with full snow cover. JFK had a good amount of powder.

From the top of the tram (packing at full capacity now and finally no COVID restrictions), Northway was the groomed way down, while Vermonter had ice/slush moguls under the powder. Saw a few people hitting the Face Chutes.
