Comments | Pleasantly surprised with conditions and weather today. Did the $35 LL Bean Sunday deal, which is an amazing value for a mid-sized mountain like this. Three ways off of the top were open, all with good base depth and near wall to wall coverage. A few avoidable areas of carnage emerged in the afternoon. Three options off the top (Sweeper, Lallypalooza, Frostbite Falls). Fearless Leader was awesome first thing in the morning. Boris Badenov was also good. Dudley was a little thin toward the bottom (signed to keep you in the deeper stuff), but otherwise good. Lower Fractured Fairy Tales was opened around lunchtime (natural with bare spots), from Sweeper to the old Hoppity Hopper crossover. Taylor's Treat was open to connect to West Side. Egomaineah and Mahoosuc Meadow were open with wall to wall coverage (one or two thin spots on Egomanieah from bike berms). Lower Easy Rider was closed (natural), so McClain Lane was the way back (could get a running start for the first third, but the rest was mostly bare/walking). Partly sunny skies in the morning and early afternoon, with showers visible in other directions. Temperatures in the 40s with spring snow throughout. Night and day difference in snow quality/depth vs. Cannon. Seemed like there were more uphill skiers than downhill skiers today. | |
