Comments | I finally got to ski a typical Cannon day. Ice, frozen granular, wind, etc. Summit was just about clear around lunchtime, with a few lingering clouds. The ride on the summit chair was freezing!!! Chattery runs, dodging glare ice patches, all the fun. Paulie’s Folly had a conservative inch of fresh snow over ice, but it actually wasn’t overly terrible. Upper Cannon had some big ice bulges that had formed, but was otherwise easier to control. Tramway had chunks of ice running down the middle of the trail that had fallen from...the tram cables. Yikes. Taft had the most ideal snow, but slow your roll...Middle Ravine got adventurous. Skylight was closed, as was the Saddle...and once we got to Mittersill we saw why. The double was running on Mittersill, with Dragons Drop and Barons being the only groomed runs off it...Dragons Drop was sketchy in spots where grooming hadn’t quite gone to plan.
Probably skied with 25 people all morning, not busy at all. One lady told me she thought we were all crazy for skiing. She was right. |
