Food and Beverage | Seemed like a good idea to grab some food to bring up to the Bunyan Room in the Octagon Lodge. Geez, wish I could say something nice about the food, cashier very nice but food choices limited. And what a joke the french fries are $6.50 for about 12 fries, the container is mostly empty, temptation to pour three into one basket was high so I skipped them. I opted for 2 of the baskets of Chicken Tenders with fries (actually more fries than the fries), price was $26. We easily found seats at the bar in the Bunyan Room. Felt like a light weekday today. |

Comments | Happy first day of Spring.
Parked at South Peak and learned that it is called the Pemi Lodge, ha ha. Skied with our Boston Family and friends. Started out sunny and mild at 10 am but by 11 am it was dark and cloudy and chilly! Snow and condition were were much better on South Peak, probably because it sees less traffic. Ripsaw was closed, it looked icy and thin. Bare spots are starting to show up on North Peak. Thin crowd, parking lots not full and ski onto every lift, no even a line at the gondola. Snow didn't get sticky it was more granular with firm stuff and piles of loose snow to push around and best to avoid the patches that look like blue ice they are actually slush and sticky. Good time, glad I went and fingers are crossed for the snow to last. Left about 3 pm as it began to rain. |
