Moguls | people were smashing the mogul course on Flume. Natural bumps forming from the loose powder on steeper trails like Walking Boss. |
Terrain Park(s) | Yup super duper terrain parks be sure to take the jumps fast enough so you don't land on the flat. |
Run of the Day | Angel Street, why because very few people were skiing it and the snow held well all day |
Food and Beverage | Good beer at the Gov. Adams upstairs bar! Tables were available, people coming and going. Lodge did not seem too crowded even at lunch time. Staff was very good. |

Comments | I started at 7:45 at South Peak, yes they let us on early! I lapped 6 times before I felt like it wasn't my private resort. Everything was open on South Peak. Steepest trails, like top of Rip Saw were firm with the powder 4 or 5 inches deep on the flatish sections. I think they groomed before it stopped snowing. Mid morning I ran into some friends and skied a few laps on the Kanc8, welcomed the heated seats and the bubble's protection from the wind, it was cold this morning. Then we went over to the North Peak, Walking Boss, Flume and Angel Street were good fun, this new snow was just what we needed. Yes firm snow with a mix of packed powder and loose powder. In the afternoon the wind left up mostly and the sun came out. I never went anywhere near the gondola base but until 10 no lift lines, between 10 and 1 lift lines at Kanc8 and North Peak were 2 to 5 minutes. After 1 pm lift lines were less than a minute. The sign read Sold Out, but I was surprised how it didn't feel crowded today, more like pleasantly full. I got a lot of runs into day. I had planned on just skiing the morning but I spent most the whole day. I like South Peak. |
