Terrain Park Terrain Park(s)Terrain Park is major and did a run down it to admire it and do a few of the 1/4 pipe type of stuff, up & down. Tons of snow in there it is really amazing the effort they put into this since I never see anyone using the features. Saw two workers shaping the features & jumps, it really is a piece of art.
Run of the Day Run of the DayLower Coolidge Street, snow was most consistant granular and no one else was ever on it.
Food and Beverage Food and BeverageAte late lunch at Chieng Garden, excellent luncheon specials and then went shopping at the State Liquor Store right next to it.
Comments Comments Went to South Peak and got the closest parking available at Loon. I forgot my Ikon Pass and was was pleased with the no hassle we'll replace it for free and super sweet helpful attitude at customer service at South Peak Pemi Base Camp--thank you. I got in the lift line of the Lincoln Express with about 25 other people and I struck up a conversation with a Cannon Skier and we ended up skiing together. They did not open the lift until 9:20 when the ski patrol reluctantly said ok. The only trails they dropped the ropes were Cruiser and Boom Run (No black diamonds). Fred and I skied Boom and then Cruiser and it was firm and firmer in some places but groomed pretty smooth--it was fun. Everyone else seemed to take the sideways chair over to the main peak. Then we made our way over to North Peak and skied Walking Boss, Sunset to Lower Flume. With the exception of Lower Flume the other two were groomed and had some nice loose granular and we skied the heck out that. Upper Flume all of East Basin were kept closed. We then went over to the Kanc 8 and did laps there in the luxury seats. NO Lift Lines and only trails that seemed like it had people on it was over by 7-brothers. A lot of trails were roped off upper northstar, upperRumrunner, Speakeasy. We'd take RamsPature to cut over to ski Coolidge Street and Lower Rumrunner--very good and never saw another person on these trails. Started raining at Noon. Took a ski through the Loon Mountain giant terrain park and down the gondola--five minute lift line, only one of the day. Back at South Peak we did a few more runs before calling it quits and the rain was coming down hard. Good fun. Snowmaking Trails have a lot of snow.
