Comments CommentsWiped out at high speed and sprained my wrist on Header. Oops. Ruined a sleeper powder day with 8" overnight.

Never planned to go over to Ramshead, was going to do laps on Skyeship Stage II. Unfortunately, Bear Mtn ticket window is closed on weekdays, and the website kept telling me my voucher code had already been added to my cart, when my cart was empty. So I had to go down to Snowshed from Skye Peak Express, by way of a beautiful groomed run down Bittersweet/High Road/Snowshed Slope. Was hoping to ski all day. Nope.

After waiting on line for 20-25 minutes at Snowshed Ticket Window (this is why Bear Mtn ticket window needs to be open...), I trudged up to the Snowshed Express, only to find four chairs stacked up and jammed in the bottom terminal. Ramshead it was. Was planning on skiing down to K1, but the top half of Header was ungroomed and virtually untracked...I couldn't resist. Right before the groomed part, I came into a slight ridge then a drop at high speed. Wind had blown the snow off that area, completely invisible from above. I hit the icy patch, followed by some denser snow (probably from a snowboarder) at high speed while turning and my day was done. What a shame.
