Comments CommentsAnother great day at Killington today. I was expecting the worst, given the dry nature of the existing snow, but even in the morning I didn't notice much ice at all. It was snowing lightly all day, but it picked up into moderate to heavy snow around 1-2 PM. About two inches had fallen by the time lifts closed, and it skied great. Never had to wait more than a few chairs all afternoon, even for the K1 gondola. That and Snowdon Six were huge assets, given the heavy snow.

Only other noteworthy thing was a big flood at Bear Mountain in the morning. Looked like a snowmaking pipe burst underground - muddy water was flooding all over the base area, including into the Bear Mountain lodge, down into the parking lot, and the lift shack/loading area. Bear Mtn Quad went from being on a wind hold to a water hold. People had to walk up Outer Limits a bit to get to the Skye Peak Express. Hopefully the damage to the lift/lodge wasn't too bad, and Mountain Ops should be able to groom the flooded/frozen areas.
